This appointment is a heartfelt, third-generation milestone for the company, as Jake, the son of President Marc Smith and Vice President Laurie Shader Smith, brings his fresh perspective and dynamic energy to the leadership team. Jake’s grandfather, Stan Shader, and his great uncle, Ron Shader, started and led the business in 1982.

With a background in business administration and a proven track record of success in business development and strategic planning, Jake is well-equipped to lead the company into its next phase of growth.

He previously worked in the senior housing and single-family build-for-rent spaces, where he underwrote over $150 million in closed transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Florida.
