Refund Policy
Effective Date: 1/1/24
This Refund Policy applies to all customers who enter into a monthly lease agreement for storage unit rental at a Personal Mini Storage managed facility.
Monthly Lease Agreements
Our storage unit rentals are based on a monthly lease agreement.
- The lease term begins on the date the agreement is signed and continues on a month-to-month basis until terminated by either party in accordance with the lease terms.
- Payment is due in full at the beginning of each rental month.
Initial Payments: The first month’s rent, along with any administrative or security deposit fees, are due at the time of signing the lease agreement. These fees are generally non-refundable except as described below.
Refunds
Given our month-to-month leasing agreement, we do not offer refunds for any rental period already commenced.
- Reservation Fees: Reservation fees to hold a unit or parking space for your move-in date are non-refundable and will be applied to your first month’s rent or administrative fees upon signing the lease agreement.
- Prepaid Months: Full months paid in advance that have not commenced will be eligible for a refund, minus any applicable fees or costs incurred.
- Proration Policy: If you decide to vacate your storage unit before the end of your current rental month, we do not offer prorated refunds for the unused portion of the month.
Cancellations: You may cancel your lease at any time. If you choose to terminate your lease agreement before the end of the monthly term, please provide us with notice in accordance with the lease agreement. To cancel your lease, please contact our customer service team during office hours at the location you rented your storage unit or parking space.
Cancellation Before Move-In: If you cancel your lease agreement before moving your belongings into the storage unit, we will refund your first month’s rent in full if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of signing the lease agreement. Administrative fees or security deposits are non-refundable unless cancellation occurs within the same day the lease agreement was signed and before any belongings were moved into the storage unit.
Security Deposits: If applicable, your security deposit will be refunded within 30 days after the lease termination, less deductions for any unpaid charges, rent due, damages, charges, expenses, and/or any and all costs incurred by Personal Mini Storage to repair, clean, and/or restore the space to its original condition (normal wear and tear excepted) for rental to others.
Exceptions: Personal Mini Storage reserves the right to make exceptions to this refund policy on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. In the event of extenuating circumstances, such as natural disasters or other unforeseeable events, we may offer refunds or credits towards future storage rent at our discretion.
Modifications to the Refund Policy
Personal Mini Storage reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. We will notify customers of significant changes through our website or direct communication. Review this policy periodically to be aware of any changes.
